Netherton Road was started back in 1974 when they were then known as Netherton Young Conquerors.The band was started when George Little-Jim Gilfillan-Alex McCreaddie and Robert Scott who were then members of Craigneuk True Defenders left this band and decided to start a band in the Netherton area at that time any new bands starting up had to have a lodge to sponsor them and fortunately LoL 670 from Motherwell sponsored the band Fudge & Gilly(George and Jim) were the men behind aranging the gathering of instuments.They were then joined by some already established fluters and drummers and some who had to be taught, For our first parade we had four side drummers 8 fluters and since then went from strength to strength.         Cmon the Road
